Our practice has been caring for pediatric dermatology patients since its opening in 1984. We diagnose and treat skin diseases in infants, children, and adolescents. Particular consideration is given to the unique developmental and physiologic aspects of the pediatric population. Often systemic disease presents first with skin lesions and thus enables early diagnosis and treatment. Specialized care of common childhood skin problems such as acne, atopic eczema, and skin infections is available in our practice. We place a strong emphasis on educating children and their families about skin disease and the harmful effects of the sun later in life. Our lasers may be used in children, such as the V-beam for spider angiomas and the GentleLase for excessive hair growth.
