AMY NEWBURGER, M.D.
Amy E. Newburger, M.D., F.A.A.D, the founder of Dermatology Consultants of Westchester, PLLC, received her medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine, and completed her dermatology residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine. She was a Visiting Scientist at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health, where her research focused on malignant melanoma. Previous full-time academic appointments include Assistant Professor of Dermatology at University of Miami School of Medicine, and at University of California, Irvine.
She has been a consultant for the FDA’s General and Plastic Surgery Branch, and a Voting Member of the Food and Drug Administration's Panel on General and Plastic Surgery Reconstructive Devices for many years. When first appointed, she was the first and the only dermatologist (as well as the only physician in full-time private practice) to be on this Panel. She has been key in persuading the Branch to include more dermatologists on the Panel, as more devices have long lasting impact on skin and health, and dermatologists have a broad view of skin aging.
She has served as President of the Westchester County Medical Society, the Dermatology Section of the Westchester County Medical Society, the Westchester Academy of Medicine and has remain active in the Westchester County Medical Society, where she has served on the Board of Directors, the Board of Ethics, and the Medical and Professional Peer Review Committee for many years.
Dr. Newburger serves as an Expert Consultant to the Office of Professional Medical Conduct for the New York State Department of Health. She is currently Senior Attending Phisician at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Medical Consortium in NYC, where she teaches dermatology residents, and is Senior Attending Physician at White Plains Hospital Medical Center. She is a reviewer for numerous dermatology journals and has published many articles in peer reviewed journals. She was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Women's Dermatologic Society. She is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, Medical Society of the State of New York, Women's Dermatologic Society, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and American Contact Dermatitis Society.

Dr. Newburger is nationally recognized and has lectured extensively to consumer, business, and medical groups across the country. Dr. Newburger has served as a consultant to some of the country's leading cosmetic companies, including Avon, Chesebrough-Ponds, Neutrogena, and Elizabeth Arden, as well as for various consumer publications.
Dr. Newburger's views on health and beauty have been featured extensively in the national media, with appearances on "Good Morning America," "20/20," and "The Montel Williams Show," and on many local and national television news broadcasts, including CNN, Fox News, ABC, NBC, and CBS. She has written monthly and bi-monthly columns for consumer publications, as well as column with her byline in ShopSmart Magazine, a publication of Consumers Union.
