AMY NEWBURGER, M.D. Amy E. Newburger, M.D.,
the founder of Dermatology Consultants of Westchester, is a graduate of Barnard
College, received her medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine, and completed
her dermatology residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine. She was
a Visiting Scientist at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes
of Health where her research focused on malignant melanoma. Her previous full-time
academic appointments include Assistant Professor of Dermatology at University
of Miami School of Medicine, and at University of California, Irvine. She is the
only dermatologist and the only physician in private practice to be a Voting Member
of the Food and Drug Administration's Panel on General and Plastic Surgery Reconstructive
Devices. A Board Certified dermatologist, she is the author of the best selling
book, Looking Good at Any Age, (Doubleday, 2000.) Dr. Newburger
is a nationally recognized dermatologist who has lectured extensively to consumer,
business, and medical groups across the country. She is the President of
the Westchester County Medical Society, is past President of the Dermatology Section
of the Westchester County Medical Society, and is a former Board of Directors
member of the Women's Dermatologic Society. She is active in the Westchester County
Medical Society, where she has served on the Board of Directors, the Board of
Ethics, and the Medical and Professional Peer Review Committee for many years.
Dr. Newburger has served as a consultant to some of the country's leading cosmetic
companies, including Avon, Chesebrough-Ponds, Neutrogena, and Elizabeth Arden,
as well as for various consumer publications. She is a member of the American
Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, Medical Society of the State
of New York, Women's Dermatologic Society, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery,
and American Contact Dermatitis Society. Dr. Newburger serves as an Expert
Consultant to the Office of Professional Medical Conduct for the New York State
Department of Health. She is currently on the faculty at St. Luke's - Roosevelt
Medical Consortium in NYC, where she teaches dermatology residents, and is an
Attending Physician at White Plains Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Newburger's
views on health and beauty have been featured extensively in the national media,
with appearances on "Good Morning America," "20/20," and "The Montel Williams
Show," and on many local and national television news broadcasts, including CNN,
Fox News, ABC, NBC, and CBS. She writes a column with her byline in ShopSmart Magazine, a publication of Consumers Union. Her magazine and newspaper interview credits include:
